So many people are running scared – of the vaccine, of the microchip, of the government, and of each other. Fear, my friend, is very real – it is a controlling spirit that tries to keep us in subjection and its ultimate goal is our destruction.
Many Christians point to Revelation 13:16-18 as proof that we need to be afraid. These verses explain that everyone who carries ‘the mark of the beast’ will live forever in the lake of fire. The verses even tell us where that mark will be – either in the hands or the foreheads. Contrast those verses with Deuteronomy 6:8 which instructs us to keep the Word of God as phylacteries (a memorial, reminder, or sign) upon our hands and our foreheads. Apparently we will carry either the mark of God (voluntarily) or the mark of the beast (involuntarily).
The explanation is simple yet profound. God has children and so does the devil. Whomever we yield ourselves to obey, to that one we belong, whether God to righteousness, or the devil to everlasting damnation (Romans 6:16).
A simple explanation is to ask ourselves: what am I holding in my hands? Is it the Word of God, inspirational tracts, help for others? Or is it astrology charts, tarot cards, hoarding for myself, video games, non-stop internet interaction? What are we reading? The Word? Theological studies? Inspirational messages? Or is it science fiction? Fantasy? Evil imaginations and the like? What are we thinking about? God? The things of God? Or the things of the world? Where does our imagination take us? To good? Or to evil? Are we calling good, evil; and evil, good?
The works of our hands are phylacteries—memorials to the one we serve. The thoughts of our minds are phylacteries. The question we have to ask ourselves is to whom we have dedicated those phylacteries. We serve what we worship, and we all serve. We are serving either God or the devil. Romans 6:19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
The Scripture also gives us a clue as to the identity of the Mark of the Beast. Revelations 13:18, “This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.” Those who have studied numbers and their symbolism in the Scriptures know that the number 6 represents man. And the Mark of the Beast? 6-lust of the flesh 6-lust of the eyes 6-pride
1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
Mankind is easily led astray and the devil and his children are masters at deception. It is up to us to search the Scripture and set our minds on the things of God. As is the case, our hearts will follow after what our minds’ decide to pursue – whether it is sin unto death or righteousness unto eternal life. God is not a bully – He is offering us a choice. And let me just say that there is no middle ground. You will serve either God or the devil. God is giving you a choice. The devil has already assumed command over all those who have not chosen God Almighty. And wonderfully, marvelously– GOD allows u-turns!
Joshua 24:15 “And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
